Chapter 2614: Boundless Light
"Amitabha. What do you think, Bodhisattva Maitreyi?"
Within the Golden Chamber in the very center of the Gen Temple sat several Bodhisattvas. They sat cross-legged, in lines on either side of the Abbot, gazing at her with a serious expression.
"He agreed to it, surprisingly enough," she remarked with a smile. "He could use it. He is entirely lost within himself. Should he lift the fog of impurity that impedes his vision, then he would be able to discern who he is much sooner."
They nodded with a knowing expression.
"And, as for his power?" Bodhisattva Kakin, the Monk of Mystery, asked. "The reports of his feats in the Sekigahara Confederate are... hard to believe."
She stirred at the question. "I was unable to discern his true power. If he is truly capable of such power, then it is buried deep within him and isn't a part of his natural state."
The Bodhisattvas around her fell into thought.
"What about his Hellbringer embedding and his breakthrough ability, Maitreyi?" Bodhisattva Namuk, the Speed Sage, asked with a stern expression. "The primary reason he came here was to impart his blessings upon the Gen Temple. That is the most important objective for us. All this matter about his purification and the test is entirely irrelevant. You should have had him do just those things the very moment he came to the Gen Temple."
"He is our guest," Bodhisattva Maitreyi calmly replied. "We will honor him as one before we make any requests of him."
The Bodhisattvas exchanged skeptical glances with each other.
"Besides, aren't you curious?" She smiled wryly. "Which one of them is stronger? They are among the very best of what humankind has to offer."
They stirred at her words.
They would be lying if they said they weren't curious.
A blessing from the heavens.
This wasn't just because of philosophical or theistic reasons, but rather because her Path was the purest manifestation of Genism, all the progress she made as a Martial Artist was of priceless value to the Gen Temple. Her individuality applied not just to her Martial Art, but also to the entirety of Genism as a Martial philosophy.
Every step she took was a giant leap for Gen philosophy.
She allowed Genism to evolve extremely faster as a Martial philosophy than it would have without her. The training methods she devised, the system of thoughts she came up with, the techniques she created, all of them elevated Gen Martial philosophy to a higher level. Her contributions made it so that she was the second most influential and authoritative person in the Gen Temple after Bodhisattva Maitreyi herself.
"The two of them are similar in that their powerful Martial Paths have allowed them to make a disproportionate impact on the world around them," Bodhisattva Maitreyi mused with a knowing tone. "Although the Dawnbringer is a pillar of hope for all of human civilization in an Era of Darkness, I believe that Amare is capable of becoming an even greater beacon than he is when she gains Nirvana and becomes a Bodhisattva among us. At that point, she will finally have the power to spread Genism around the entire world and single-handedly dispel the Era of Darkness."
The other Bodhisattvas nodded with a hint of admiration to Bodhisattva Maitreyi's
farsightedness.
Almost all people around the Panama Continent had been negatively affected psychologically by the Era of Darkness. Even the Kandrian Empire, which fared far, far better than other people around the world, was still not devoid of fear, misery, and despair.
The only exception to this rule was the Gen Temple.
The people of the Gen Temple weren't so much as shaken.
The purification process that got rid of the impure fog that covered the mind had given them clarity to be able to understand and accept their situation without experiencing any negative emotion to it.
"Amitabha."
A word that translated to Boundless Light.
Boundless Light to dispel the Era of Darkness.
