Chapter 3 Death Star and Prayer
Chapter 3 Death Star and Prayer
"Stop making that noise! Tell me how much energy you have left!"
"quack!"
Duck Gigi hopped around twice, showing off the muscles on its wings, its smug look seeming to say, "I have inexhaustible strength."
Lin Feng glanced at the system. He was still missing four tasks for the first system mission. If he put in some effort, he might be able to complete them before the banquet.
"I wonder what sacrificial magic is like."
A person and a duck walked carefully through the forest, one in front and one behind.
There were many little elves in the forest. Lin Feng chose to avoid the gentle elves who were friendly to him, and only killed those with bad tempers who tried to attack him and other elves.
If it's a low-level Pokémon, DuckGigilla will circle around behind these weak Pokémon and use its slap attack to its heart's content. But if it sees a high-level Pokémon, it will simply turn its head and walk in another direction without looking back.
Their main tactic is to bully the weak and fear the strong.
Most low-level Pokémon haven't evolved yet, with base stats at most around 300, while DuckGigi's base stats are a whopping 430, not to mention its flawless, top-tier talent.
"Duck Gigi, use the sonic bomb!"
Duck Gigi opened its mouth and made two loud "quack quack" sounds. A line of light blue musical notes flew out quickly and hit the small grasshopper in front of Duck Gigi.
"Snapped!"
A flash of white light, and the little grasshopper fainted. Duck Jiji raised his hand and swooped down, executing the little grasshopper.
After defeating the last Pokémon required for the mission, a system notification sounded.
[Slaying 5 low-level elves is complete. Reward: Sacrifice Magic 1 has been issued.]
Lin Feng stared at the system panel in front of him, puzzled, and said, "It's already been issued? I don't really feel anything..."
"Holy crap!"
Pain! Excruciating pain!
My head! It feels like it's about to explode!
A vast amount of knowledge about sacrificial magic flooded into Lin Feng's mind, completely disregarding his feelings.
"Ugh!"
He couldn't hold back the pain and cried out, clutching his head and collapsing to the ground, his body convulsing.
The duckling, Jiji, was anxious and at a loss, quacking incessantly and stroking Lin Feng's head with its wings.
In the wild, such commotion attracted many destructive spirits to approach.
Lin Feng couldn't care less about anything else; the intense pain in his brain caused him to faint.
In a daze, Lin Feng fell into a very real dream.
In his dream, he found himself in an ancient library, with books about the magic of life piled on the desk.
He was obsessed with reading and memorizing one book after another about life and the symbols that represented it.
After an unknown amount of time, he began to try using life magic on the elves, from extracting the life force of cocoa fruits to heal the elves, to reversing the extraction and turning the elves' life force into cocoa fruits.
The wails of those elves as their life force was drained, and even Locke's own, continued to assault his sanity.
"quack!"
Lin Feng suddenly woke up, panting heavily, his whole body drenched in cold sweat. The scene in his memory was too real! It was as if... he was really experiencing it.
However, he felt it was worth it, because in the scenes he remembered, the sacrificial magic could extract some of the life force of an elf before it died.
These life forces are completely controllable; they can be used to cultivate magic fruits, directly improve the aptitude of spirits, and even break through the upper limit of spirit aptitude!
However, Lin Feng could sense that the sacrificial magic he had learned was incomplete, and his methods of locking and using life force were quite immature.
He looked up. The sky was darkening, and a thin layer of mist had settled over the forest, making it possible to vaguely see some transparent outlines taking shape.
"Oh no!"
Lin Feng thought the system's memory transfer would be instantaneous, but he never expected to lie there until nightfall! What if some elf took the opportunity to attack him in the meantime...?
He couldn't help but shiver and quickly got up from the grass.
"By the way, where's DuckJiJi?"
Lin Feng glanced around, then frowned. "So chaotic! Has there been a battle here?"
The surrounding weeds were trampled into pieces, and a few blue-purple feathers could be faintly seen scattered on the ground.
He looked in the direction of the fighting and immediately saw Duck Gigi lying not far away. It was covered in wounds, with several feathers knocked out, revealing deep cuts that exposed the bone.
"Duckling!"
Lin Feng staggered a couple of steps, then rushed to Yajiji's side. He gently patted its face, "Yajiji! Yajiji! How are you?"
DuckJiJi's fluffy face broke into a somewhat lewd smile again, letting out two weak quacks. The wound was too deep; if it weren't for his unwavering determination to protect Lin Feng, he probably...
Lin Feng grew anxious. He glanced at the small spirit faces that were already faintly visible around him. He dared not gamble on whether these spirits were friendly or greedy.
He was terrified of death, and he desperately wanted Duck Gigi to continue standing up and protecting him, but Duck Gigi was already on the verge of death protecting him.
What can I do? Stop being so dense, think of something!
"Magic... Damn it! Why didn't this lousy system give me a few beginner's packs first? At least some magic to protect myself!"
Lin Feng cursed under his breath. At this moment, he really wanted to go back to that ancient library in his dream and properly learn some attack magic and healing magic.
He took out the Gulu Ball, preparing to put Duck Gigi back into the ball and lock its state in place.
But DuckJiJi refused, pointing to the bushes on the side.
"Gah, gah gah."
Lin Feng understood. It told him to hide and wait until it attracted the attention of the nearby Pokémon before running towards the shopping street. He would be safe once he reached the dirt road.
"Quack, quack, quack. (You can catch another ordinary Pokémon like DuckJiJi anytime, right?)"
"Fuck you!"
In the dim environment, several small spirits with strong aggressive desires began to gather after sensing the presence of life.
Lin Feng gritted his teeth, gripped his magic wand tightly in his right hand, and stood in front of Yajiji, shouting angrily:
"Let me tell you, a prismatic ball can buy more than 100 ducklings' lives, you know?! That's why I don't want to go to such lengths to prepare a prismatic ball and catch a new Prismatic!"
He reached out his left hand and lightly pounded his chest, summoning the astrolabe. The astrolabe, wreathed in black flames, exuded an ominous aura and hovered in front of him.
"If, if it were really like a game, we could turn our willpower into an impact."
Lin Feng raised his magic wand, closed his eyes, and began to channel magic into it, mimicking the use of a sacrificial spell. With his other hand, he grasped the star chart and murmured to himself.
"Star, if only you could hear my prayer."
The glittering starlight did not respond to him, only a silent darkness. He opened his eyes and shouted in anger, "Whatever it is, answer me now!"
"Tear them apart!"
A dark, dead star in the night sky radiated a deep darkness towards him, flowing into his astrolabe. Purple-black energy surged violently into Lin Feng's magic wand along his meridians.
The incredibly powerful and violent force almost caused him to lose his grip. Lin Feng dared not delay and immediately released it towards the little spirit face that was rushing towards him.
"Willpower Impact!"
"Whoosh!"
A dark golden star flashed by, and black cracks appeared simultaneously on the bodies of the four little spirits in the air.
"Click, click..."
They resemble cracked rocks, slowly heading towards death.
However, Lin Feng did not stop what he was doing. He mobilized all the remaining magic power in his body to launch a sacrifice spell.
"Give it to me, draw it!"
Lin Feng's veins bulged, and the magic power within his body decreased like flowing water. Finally, a large amount of white energy flowed out of the remains of the Little Spirit Mask, and strands of it flew towards his magic wand.
He used his last bit of strength to pour all the life force he had gained from the sacrifice into the body of the already lifeless duck, Jiji.
He chuckled as he saw the wounds on Duck Gigi's body begin to heal.
"From now on, my safety... will probably... depend on you again."
As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Feng collapsed from exhaustion and fell into a coma.
"Knock knock!"
In the pitch black, time seemed to drag on endlessly. It longed to go back and see if its owner was out of danger.
However, the more it struggled, the deeper it sank.
"Duck Gigi".
Respond to me!
Duck Gigi stretched out its wings, desperately trying to grasp the starlight that, though ominous, echoed with its owner's voice.
"quack!"
Duck Gigi woke up and pecked at its body, feeling lighter than ever before. "Quack, quack quack? (How come there's not a single wound?)"
In addition, it felt a surge of power within its body. The next second, it was horrified to find its owner lying motionless beside it.
"Gaga gaga! Gaga gaga!"
