Chapter 542 Uncle's younger brother, former Galar champion Pioneer
Chapter 542 Uncle's younger brother, former Galar champion Pioneer
The gift-giving arrangement was finally settled, and the next day arrived.
Li Luochen, accompanied by Katishia, met up with Shindai in the suburbs of Rongcheng.
The battle pyramids of the Age of Gods stood on an open field in the suburbs, their towering peaks appearing and disappearing in the morning mist.
However, this pyramid actually fits quite well with Fujian Province; when connected to other mountain ranges, it seems to blend into one with the rest of the province.
Kamishiro stood at the entrance and waved to the two as they arrived: "Get on, it'll take several hours to get here."
The two entered the battle pyramid and went to a room to rest.
hum!
The pyramid trembled slightly, and through the porthole, one could see the ground outside slowly sinking.
Katishia sat by the window, gazing thoughtfully at the receding scenery outside.
Li Luochen leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes. After a journey of several hours, it was time to catch up on some sleep.
......
Galer region, Crown Snowfield, Frozen Village.
There was only this one village on the entire snowfield, with a few dozen scattered households. The wooden houses were small, with thick snow piled on the roofs and thin white smoke rising from the chimneys.
The village is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, with only a winding path leading to the outside world.
The cold wind swept through the valley, carrying snowflakes that stung my face.
The Battle Pyramid was parked in an open area near the village. This enormous object looked somewhat out of place in the vast expanse of white snow.
"We've arrived! Please follow me!"
Kamishiro, wearing a military green overcoat, walked at the front, with Li Luochen and Katishia following behind him.
There weren't many people in the village. A few elderly people wrapped in thick cotton-padded coats sat in front of their houses basking in the sun. When they saw Jindai, they simply nodded slightly, as if they had already gotten used to the arrival of this uninvited guest.
A young woman carrying firewood walked out of the yard. Her gaze lingered on Li Luochen and Katishia for a moment before she looked away and continued on her way with her head down.
"That's just how this village is; they don't like to talk to outsiders." Kamishiro said without turning his head, his tone indifferent. "But they're not bad people; they won't refuse to help you if you need it."
Li Luochen wrapped his coat tighter around himself, his gaze sweeping over the low wooden rooftops and landing on the distant plains shrouded in mist.
"Yo~ Kamishiro, you're here! Hahahaha!"
The door of a wooden house was suddenly pushed open, and a burly man strode out.
The orange explorer's suit covered his muscular frame, and the helmet was pulled low over his head, revealing half of his stubble-faced man.
Despite being dressed in thick clothes, they walked with a brisk pace, kicking up snowflakes.
He walked up to Jindai, looked him up and down, and his laughter made the snow on the eaves fall in a flurry: "I thought you'd given up long ago!"
"I was planning to give up, but now there's a new situation." Kamishiro's lips twitched slightly. "Pione, you're still the same as ever."
"Absolutely."
Peoni grinned, his gaze sweeping past the Gods and landing on Li Luochen and Katishia. His eyes, hidden beneath his helmet, immediately lit up: "Wow! Who are these two?"
Kamishiro stepped aside to make way and introduced, "Li Luochen, a trainer from the Eastern Empire. Katishia, his accomplice... cough cough, his partner."
Pioni strode forward, grabbed Li Luochen's hand, and shook it with a force as if he were tightening a screw: "From Donghuang? Hahahaha, welcome, welcome!"
Li Luochen's hand went numb from being gripped so tightly, but he nodded without showing any emotion.
Pioneer then turned to Katishia, and just as he reached out his hand, Katishia silently took a half step back.
He didn't mind, pulled his hand back and slapped his thigh, laughing even more heartily: "The little girl is quite cautious, hahahaha."
As he laughed, Pione seemed to realize something, and his laughter gradually subsided.
He narrowed his eyes, his gaze sweeping over Li Luochen's face twice beneath the brim of his helmet, and asked seriously, "You're from the Donghuang region? Your surname is Li?"
"right."
"Is that guy Loz your godfather?"
Li Luochen paused slightly: "Uh, that's right."
Pione's face instantly fell, and his previous enthusiasm deflated like a punctured balloon.
"Tch." He curled his lip, his tone carrying three parts disdain and seven parts resentment, "That stinky old man goes around claiming relatives everywhere."
Li Luochen stood there, watching the burly man go from a warm welcome to a sudden change of attitude, his feelings a mix of emotions.
It's actually quite normal for Pioneer to have this reaction.
He is Loz's younger brother and has lived in his brother's shadow since childhood.
Loz is outstanding, composed, and has shown his talent at a young age, while no matter how hard Pione tries, he always gets the response, "Look at your brother."
If you're constantly being compared to others, you'll turn into a hedgehog.
He ran away from home and made a name for himself in Galar through his own abilities, becoming a gym leader and winning a championship. He thought he could finally stand tall and say, "I'm no worse than Rose."
The results of it?
Even though he defeated Loz in the league competition and later became the champion of the Galar region, Loz soon became the chairman of the league council.
When the news reached Pioneer's ears, he said nothing.
He submitted his resignation the very next day, turned around and went to the Crown Snowfield, far away from the Alliance and far away from his brother who was always one step ahead of him.
So his "tsk" expression when he saw Li Luochen wasn't directed at Li Luochen, but at the identity of "Loz's god-nephew".
Seemingly realizing that her attitude was somewhat inappropriate, Pioney explained, "Well, I don't have a problem with you as a person."
"You guys go and rest first, we can talk about it tomorrow."
After saying that, without waiting for a response, Pione returned to his cabin.
Kamishiro remained calm, turned and walked towards the other end of the village, saying, "Let's go, our accommodation is over there."
Li Luochen glanced at the tightly closed wooden door, said nothing, and followed in Shen Dai's footsteps.
Katishia walked at the back, glancing sideways as she passed the wooden door, and vaguely heard a muffled "tsk" coming from behind it.
At the end of the village, a building much taller than the other wooden houses came into view.
With its pointed roof and wide eaves, two log pillars stand at the entrance, and a dim gas lamp hangs under the eaves, casting a warm glow in the snow.
Compared to the low and cramped wooden houses in the village, this is already considered luxurious.
Kamishiro stopped at the door: "This is where you'll stay. Please bear with it for now. The conditions will be much better once we get to the city."
Li Luochen pushed open the door, and the room was more spacious than he had imagined.
Thick blankets hung on the wooden walls, and the fire in the fireplace burned brightly, its orange glow warming the entire room.
Two beds were covered with white plush blankets, a kettle and several enamel cups were on the table, and the window faced the distant snow-capped mountains.
"It's okay, it'll only be a day or two anyway."
Li Luochen put down his luggage, walked to the window, and looked out.
Kathias followed behind him, glancing around before pausing for a moment in front of the fireplace.
Jinshiro didn't go inside, but stood at the door and gave a few instructions: "We'll leave at six tomorrow morning. Remember to wear warm clothes; it's cold on the snowfield."
After saying that, he turned and left, his military green coat quickly disappearing into the night.
Tomorrow marks the true beginning of the Galar journey!
