Chapter 3393 Credentials
Chapter 3393 Credentials
Feynman took the thick stack of documents from his assistant and handed them to Fang Heng. “After a thousand years of being out of contact, we are exhibiting it as a display item to recoup the storage fees. This is explained in Supplementary Clause No. 2809, which you can check.”
Fang Heng did not reach out to take it, but simply said, "We must take back what belongs to Ouropolos."
"Of course, do you have a receipt?"
certificate?
Fang Heng was taken aback by the question and looked at Xia Xi beside him.
Xia Xi also frowned slightly.
What kind of voucher?
I've never heard of it.
Feynman's smile remained unchanged. "I'm sorry, but without proof, this is a bit difficult. Auction houses have their own rules, and the storage and retrieval of any item must strictly follow the procedures. Since it's an item left by a customer for safekeeping, we can't just hand it over to a stranger, right?"
“Manager Feynman,” Pena said calmly, “this is the new King of the Ouroboros Seed, a friend of mine. Please make an exception for him.”
"So it's Lord Insect King."
Feynman's eyes flashed with surprise, and he cupped his hands in a respectful gesture towards Fang Heng.
"Lady Peña, Your Majesty the Insect King, it's not that I'm disrespectful to you, but... this matter is unusual."
Feynman looked troubled. He gathered his thoughts and continued, "Indeed, as you all said, that guest claimed to be the Ouroboros Insect King. He deposited 22 obsidian boxes with us at the time, and the Insect King left behind a token as proof."
"Several epochs have passed since then, and our auction house has always kept its promise to help the Insect King keep this item safe. If you want to retrieve the item, you must have that token."
Xia Xi's expression turned cold. "So you mean the things belonging to the Seed of Ouroboros can't be produced now?"
"Please don't misunderstand, sir." Feynman quickly waved his hand, his attitude still humble. "I can't make the decision on this matter either. How about this, I'll report this to Mr. Rett, the person in charge of the auction house, and I'm sure we'll get a reply soon."
"Please, distinguished guests, wait patiently for a while."
Fang Heng felt somewhat displeased.
Delaying time?
He knows this routine very well.
Feynman, still wearing a gentle smile, gestured for them to proceed.
"Gentlemen, the auction is taking place now, which happens once every thirty years. Why don't you take a look around the venue first? I will arrange rooms for you inside the auction house. I will let you know as soon as I have any news about the vouchers."
……
After being rebuffed by manager Lehman, the group temporarily left the VIP room.
“It seems my influence isn’t very useful, Zane. Let me remind you, the people at the auction house are not easy to deal with. You’re likely to have some trouble getting our things back from Ouropolos.”
Peena glanced at Zane, waved her hand, and turned to leave. "Remember, you owe me one more time."
Zain watched Peena leave, feeling helpless.
Good grief, I did nothing and still lost a favor for nothing.
Zane looked at Fang Heng and his companion and said, "Brother Fang Heng, don't you have the treasure voucher for the previous Ouroboros Insect King?"
"I have never heard of any relevant evidence."
Xia Xi gently shook her head. "I have already sent messages to all the other breeders. If they have any evidence or clues, they will contact us immediately."
"In my opinion, it's just an excuse."
Fang Heng shook his head slightly, a hint of disdain in his heart.
certificate?
They put it so eloquently that it was impossible to find fault with them.
In his view, there was no evidence at all.
It's nothing more than seeing that the things have been left for too long and the owner hasn't come to claim them, so they got greedy and wanted to keep them for themselves.
Zain felt a little panicked as he looked at Fang Heng's increasingly gloomy face.
He was now in the same boat as Fang Heng and really didn't want Fang Heng to confront the main gods of the Endless Void head-on. He continued to persuade him, "Brother Fang Heng, don't be impulsive. Why don't we wait and hear what the person in charge, Rett, has to say?"
“Alright, it will take some time for news to arrive from the Seed of Ouroboros.” Fang Heng shrugged. “Let’s go, let’s go take a look around the second floor.”
……
Second floor of the auction house.
Compared to the orderly exhibition area on the first floor, the second floor appeared much more chaotic and noisy.
The entire second floor was divided into small areas, with stalls in each area placed in fixed positions along both sides of the passageway.
Most of the stall owners are followers of evil gods from various races. They lay out all kinds of items for sale directly on the ground and wait for buyers to make offers.
"This is the free trade area. It's much more chaotic than down here, but there are plenty of good things, and the prices are cheaper. It's cash on delivery, and there's no such thing as returns. Whether you can find a treasure depends entirely on your eye."
Zain was clearly familiar with the place. He was in good spirits and whispered, "Many items that are inconvenient to be shown at auctions are also traded privately here."
Fang Heng nodded and followed Zane forward, his gaze sweeping over the several stalls they passed.
There are indeed quite a few strange things there.
For example, on one of the stalls on the right, there was a still-beating heart, enveloped in some kind of viscous green liquid, while on the stall on the left, there was a black book that faintly exuded alchemical energy.
Many stalls displayed price tags in front of their items, but many more items did not have prices listed and required negotiation.
"what?"
Zain was walking forward when he suddenly noticed something, stopped, and stared intently at a gray stone on a certain stall.
The stone was about the size of a fist, with a pitted and uneven surface, and looked unremarkable at first glance.
Zain walked to the stall, squatted down, and carefully examined the surface of the stone.
The stall owner was a strange creature with six eyes. He glanced at Zane with three of his eyes and spoke lazily.
"You have a good eye. The remnants of the void contain a trace of the power of the void's origin. Whether used to forge weapons or absorbed directly, they are top-quality."
Zain asked, "It's a good item. How much?"
The three-eyed monster extends two fingers.
"50."
"50?"
It's a bit cheap!
There's definitely something fishy about the origin of this thing!
but it does not matter.
He bought it anyway, intending to absorb all its energy directly.
Zain pondered for a moment, then reached into his pocket.
Fang Heng looked at him.
Sure enough, Zane searched his pockets for a long time, his movements becoming slower and slower, until he finally stopped awkwardly.
The stall owner narrowed all six of his eyes, revealing an impatient look, and waved his hand, "If you can't afford it, don't delay my business."
"Ahem, it's too expensive."
Zane was a little embarrassed. He chuckled awkwardly and pulled Fang Heng and Xia Xi forward.
Fang Heng asked, "What? No money?"
"Cough cough."
Zain coughed awkwardly twice more. "Brother Fang Heng, it's better to see through things than to say them out loud. We're still good brothers."
Fang Heng asked again, "What was that just now?" (End of Chapter)
