Chapter 1060: For His Sake
Chapter 1060: For His Sake
Adrian Lancaster helped the old man to sun-dry herbal medicine, then followed him to learn medical knowledge, and even recognized a few herbs. These days felt quite pleasant.
Time flew by, and before he knew it, it was afternoon.
He carried the herbal medicine back home, and just as his car stopped, Chase Fletcher’s car followed in.
The two devoted husbands returned simultaneously, getting out of their cars nearly at the same time, closing the doors, and heading towards the living room.
"What are you carrying?"
"Herbal medicine."
With Rachel Sherman’s company today, Faye Turner not only remembered Dylan Shaw but also recalled some things about Rachel. The sisterly bond seemed to have regained its strength.
Rachel and Chase dined here, and the atmosphere was very pleasant, filled with laughter and conversation.
In the evening, after the guests left, Adrian Lancaster personally brewed herbal medicine for Faye Turner.
He had gotten used to this medicinal smell and was filled with confidence about Faye recovering her memories based on Dr. Downey’s words.
The journey hasn’t been easy, and every little moment is crucial.
After dinner, Faye spent time in the children’s room with little Joy, watching her daughter grow day by day. She could crawl quite a distance on the mat in a short time, which made her quite happy.
"Miss is very strong and rarely catches a cold," Mrs. Rhodes, who was also babysitting, said. "She hardly ever has a fever and has never been to the hospital."
"You’ve really done well, taking such good care of the child."
"It’s my duty."
Faye had already inquired a lot about her daughter’s growth, trying her best not to miss any part of it.
"Ma’am, it’s time to take the herbal medicine," a servant gently pushed the door open and said at the door.
"Alright, I’ll be right there." Faye handed little Joy over to Mrs. Rhodes, stood up, and left. The medicinal smell shouldn’t spread in the nursery, lest the child feels nauseated.
Just as Faye exited to the living room, Adrian Lancaster approached her with a bowl of herbal medicine, "The temperature is just right, you can drink it now."
"Thank you." She reached out, took it, and drank it all in one go, "Is this medicine different from the one at noon?" She could taste the difference.
"We changed the prescription for the evening." He took the empty bowl from her and handed her a peeled candy.
She looked up at him, took the candy, and put it in her mouth. The sweetness instantly dispelled all the bitterness of the herbal medicine.
The candies Adrian gave her daily were of different colors but always sweet, always lifting her spirits.
Bending down to set the empty bowl aside, he extended an invitation, "Would you accompany me for a walk in the yard?"
It was certain he had something he wanted to talk to her about.
Faye blinked her eyes and nodded, "Okay." After all, they were a married couple and needed to communicate more.
Adrian took her hand, leading her outside. The night was enchanting.
The moonlight gently cast across every corner of the yard, and the brightly lit villa behind seemed like a deep, captivating painting.
Under the moon’s glow, the noble trees appeared even more majestic, their leaves gently swaying in the evening breeze.
"I went to see your master today," Adrian confessed to her.
Actually, when she tasted the difference in the herbal medicine, she had already guessed. Turning to him, she asked, "How is my master doing?"
"He’s doing well. He’s been collecting herbs recently, drying them in the courtyard. Some haven’t been cleaned yet, so I helped for two hours and had lunch with him."
Wow, really?
Faye walked beside him, fingers interlocked, turning to him with disbelief.
The dignified President Lancaster, running off during work to help wash herbs? And for two hours no less?
Rachel told her today that in the past, she wanted to interview him, but he was like some big shot, unwilling to waste time. Indeed, he was busy like a spinning top.
